Bijou Phelouzat is a self-educated French designer, with a talent that
led the 26 year old to present her first Couture collection in January
2014. In February 2014 she also launched her women’s ready-to-wear
collection, Zuhaitz Paris.
Phelouzat, has developed a young and talented team at her Parisian atelier, and is proud that all of her pieces for both Zuhaitz Couture and Zuhaitz Paris are “Made in France”.
Zuhaitz means “tree” in Basque and represents the strong links with nature and roots, playing an important role in the brand’s creations. Staying true to the namesake of her label, Phelouzat finds herself constantly returning to her roots in the south west of France; a place which she finds a constant source of inspiration for her work.
The foundation of the Zuhaitz style is defined by a subtle element of natural sensuality, with each piece playing with volume and geometry. These combinations provide a luxurious result of feminine strength and spirit.
